Wags Cookies Creator and CEO
A love of baking, barks and bringing joy to everyone she meets, Miss Emily created Wags Cookies to give you and your pup a piece of her heart.
Emily believes that having a disability is her Super Power. She is bubbly, outgoing and loves all things pink and sparkly. She never hesitates to welcome a stranger with open arms, or make them her best friend without asking for anything in return.
To know Miss Emily is to know love that is wholeheartedly pure and simple, despite a complex medical and developmental diagnosis, and difficult journey since birth.
For 21 years, Emily has braved a rare genetic disorder that has resulted in numerous brain and stomach surgeries, countless procedures, frequent hospitalizations, and uncertainty about her future. She continues to suffer with unpredictable, recurring episodes of dysautonomia and chronic pain, but never gives up. Despite it all, she radiates positivity with her infectious smile.
Creating Wags Cookies has given Emily a break from the isolation of living with complex needs, and given her opportunity to contribute to her community while connecting with others.
Alison Ainsworth, Emily's Mom
The reality for the disability community in general is that employment is scarce. Individuals with medical or neurodevelopmental challenges, such as Emily, are often faced with hurdles in the hiring practices or otherwise, resulting in further isolation.
Wags Cookies is an inclusive business platform for Emily and our staff to mix in their passions and talents despite the complexity of their individual needs, for an amazing product and company that we all can feel proud to be a part of.
"This opportunity to create a business and a legacy for our community is really powerful."
Wags Cookies made its way to the red carpet, and was featured in the official gift bags for the 2021 Grammy Awards! The Grammy's celebrating adversity, diversity and inclusion is the perfect fit for Wags Cookies. For someone like Emily, who has developmental and medical challenges, to reach for her personal stars is incredible.
Emily warms hearts and minds everywhere she goes, including the Larry King Live Show in 2008 when she introduced the world to Levi, her Autism Service Dog. Levi was by Emily's side for 14 years, and Wags Cookies was created in recognition of his faithful service.
